School Wiki

School Wiki is one of the major breakthroughs in the history of the country. As an initiative to encourage collaborative learning, IT@School Project introduced a customized version of the Wikipedia which is called as ‘School Wiki’ for all the schools in the state. School wiki is a comprehensive database of all the schools in the state. This is been prepared using Wikemedia Foundation’s Wikemedia software which was launched with the goal of facilitating Collaborative content development and its sharing. Wikipedia is the largest and most popular general reference website sought in the internet.

By registering in Schoolwiki, all High Schools in the state would be able to include their educational contents and other details in their allotted space. Each school would be able to enter details such as basic elementary data, their historical references, statistics, infrastructure details, details of alumni, school websites and blogs, various clubs and forums, class magazines, supporting images and videos. It also includes projects such as “Pradeshika patram – [School Newsletter]”, “Nadodi Vijnanakoshan – [Local Encylcopedia]” and “Ente Nadu- [My Village]”, which are part of learning Malayalam language. These analytical language projects will be induced under the guidance of language teachers. All these reports and findings fortifies the knowledge base of School Wiki. School Wiki is expected to become the largest and most comprehensive Malayalam database over the internet in the near future.
